Hello there,

I'm Shoshanna, and I'm so happy to be offering children's parties at my wonderful dance studio, Redwood Raks. I've danced throughout my life in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Middle Eastern Dance. I've studied at most of the dance studios in the area, and have dedicated my life to studying, performing, and teaching Middle Eastern Dance since the mid 1990's.

I produce many events and have had the honor of having hundreds and hundreds of dance students pass through my classes and workshops at Humboldt State University and at many dance studios and events throughout our community (and across the U.S.). I put on the annual Redwood Coast Belly Dance Festival in Arcata in October, and direct the amazing Ya Habibi Dance Company. I've won awards for my dancing... earning the title of Belly Dancer of the Year in 2004. In early 2008 I had the great fortune of becoming the proprietor of Redwood Raks, in the beloved dance space occupied by The Dancenter for many years in Arcata's historic Old Creamery Building.

I've had lots of experience with children through teaching dance classes and giving many presentations to schools and groups throughout the region. Early in 2009 I mused that my very favorite demographic is girls aged about 3-10 years. I delight in the willingness of children in that age range to let go and fully enjoy the acts of dressing up, dancing for the fun of it, and being able to step so easily into a realm of creative play and imagination. Especially now that I have my own little daughter (now 2 years old), I find myself so excited to enter the world of children's birthday parties.

I am hoping that my Enchanting Children's Parties offer you a new option when seeking a special, memorable way to celebrate the birthdays of your little one. While party packages and themes are included on this site, I am very flexible and most of all want to facilitate a fabulous experience for you.
