This is an incomplete, but growing, directory to wonderful Birthday Party options we have in
our local community, and some fun websites I've found to be good resources.

FREE OUTDOOR IDEAS 

  • The Park! 

  • My favorites in Arcata for parties are Redwood Park and Larsen Park with picnic tables and amenities like water and restrooms/portapotty. Reserve tables @ Arcata Parks & Rec. In Eureka I'd go for Sequoia Park, and don't forget how great Manila Park is on Peninsula Drive. 

  • The Beach!

  • Always check the tides to be safe. Moonstone has easy parking. Manila Dunes is really nice, with good faciities.

  • Mad River Hatchery in Blue Lake

  • Freshwater Park

  • Arcata Skate Park, Sunset Ave in Arcata by 101 overpass. 

  • Arcata Marsh

  • Fort Humboldt State Park ~ historic landmark, state park. No charge to access... they have picnic tables, 2 historic buildings to roam around, pretty trails. They appreciate notice if a group is coming (limited parking) and for groups over 50 you'll need a special use permit. Main office (707) 445-6547. Bit of info here, too, but a little hard to access usable info for parties. :-)
